History
Since September 19, 1919, Crest Savings Bank has been meeting the financial needs of Cape May County. Established as the Wildwood Crest Building and Loan Association, it provided mortgages to the island’s growing population, it evolved from Crest Savings and Loan Association to Crest Savings Bank, S.L.A. In October 2000, it adopted its current name.
Outgrowing its space, the Bank sought a new corporate location. In December 1999, the bank purchased 3301 Pacific Avenue in Wildwood as its corporate headquarters. Motivated by the commitment to maintain a crucial presence within the community, the vacant historic Marine National Bank building was repurposed and meticulously renovated. The Holly Beach Financial Center is a tangible reminder of Downtown Wildwood’s rich past.
Recognizing the importance of community support, Crest Savings Bank prioritizes the well-being of Cape May County residents. The bank’s range of personal and business products, reflect its commitment to meeting the evolving financial needs of the community. Known for its forward-thinking approach, it was among the first in New Jersey to introduce services like internet banking, mobile deposit, and deposit ATMs.
As the bank expands, so does its physical presence. The addition of the annex and 115 Wildwood Avenue helped accommodate the growing departments vital to the bank’s operations. Its branch network now features eight full-service financial centers across Cape May County.
The Bank is deeply ingrained in the community. It has a year-round staff of 95 and additional seasonal hires. It continues to embody a legacy of trust and commitment for generations, being the preferred bank for longstanding local families and newcomers to the area.
Community Involvement
Crest Savings Bank believes in helping the people in Cape May County in many ways. Numerous requests for support are received, and we look at all of them. The committee doesn’t just focus on one important thing; they consider all the requests and how they can make life better for families and visitors in our county. The primary focus is on education, health, and making the community better. In total, Crest Savings Bank gives about 10% of the money we make and spends 1,550 hours helping different causes.
